KARACHI, September 4, 2026: The Sindh Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution rejecting any proposal to divide Sindh or alter its existing geographical boundaries, amid a renewed debate over the creation of new provinces and administrative units in Pakistan. The resolution was moved by senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro during the ongoing session of the provincial legislature. Members present in the House supported the resolution unanimously. The resolution declares that Sindh will remain united and rejects proposals aimed at creating a separate province or changing the province’s territorial limits. The issue had been taken up following growing public debate over the creation of new provinces and administrative units. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also reiterated that there would be no compromise over the geographical unity of Sindh. The development comes as political debate over administrative restructuring continues across Pakistan, with the Sindh Assembly formally placing its position on record through the resolution.
