ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has officially offered to host a second round of high-level talks between the United States and Iran. This move aims to find a lasting solution to the Middle East conflict before the current ceasefire expires.

The first historic round of talks concluded on Sunday at the Serena Hotel. While the teams negotiated for 21 hours, they did not reach a final deal. However, Pakistani officials now confirm that both sides are considering a new round of face-to-face discussions.

US Vice President JD Vance led the American delegation, which included Jared Kushner. They met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The discussions focused on critical issues:

Iran’s nuclear program

The lifting of economic sanctions

Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remains optimistic about the progress. He briefed the federal cabinet today on Pakistan’s dedication to regional stability.Reports suggest the next round of talks could happen as early as this weekend. Pakistani leadership is also working to extend the current ceasefire beyond its April 22 deadline. This would allow more time for diplomacy to succeed.

The fact that both rivals met directly in Islamabad is a major achievement. It marks the highest-level engagement between Washington and Tehran in decades. Global leaders are now watching Islamabad as it continues to push for peace.
