Mpox prevention and health awareness banner for Sindh

HYDERABAD: The Sindh Health Department has issued a high alert following a steady rise in Monkeypox (Mpox) cases across the province. Recent reports confirm that the tally has reached 14 cases, with a significant cluster identified in the Khairpur district.

Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho has directed all major hospitals and District Health Officers (DHOs) to establish dedicated isolation wards. “We are monitoring the situation closely and ensuring that screening protocols are strictly followed at all entry points,” the Minister stated during a recent briefing.

Health experts advise citizens to avoid close contact with individuals showing symptoms, wash their hands frequently with soap, and use sanitisers. If any symptoms appear, residents are urged to visit the nearest government health facility immediately
