Karachi: Following the reported attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader by Israel, protests were recorded in several cities across Pakistan, including a major demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Karachi.A large number of protesters gathered near the consulate premises, where tensions escalated as some individuals attempted to move toward the internal building area, allegedly causing damage during the protest. Authorities reported that multiple fires broke out amid the unrest, leading to a tragic situation.According to initial reports, nine people lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries during the incident. Emergency services and law enforcement agencies were deployed to control the situation and provide medical assistance to the injured.After the fatalities were confirmed, the Government of Sindh expressed condolences to the families of the victims and announced the formation of an investigation team to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the incident.Following the Karachi episode, protests reportedly spread to other major cities across Pakistan, prompting heightened security measures to maintain public order and prevent further violence.Officials have urged citizens to remain peaceful and cooperate with authorities while investigations continue.
