The Hyderabad court has awarded the death sentence to Latif Akash, son of renowned poet Dr Akash Ansari, after finding him guilty in his father’s murder case.The verdict was announced by the Model Criminal Trial Court, presided over by First Additional Sessions Judge Tasawur Ali Rajput, after completion of the trial. The accused was brought to court from Central Jail for the hearing.Several people, including complainant Jan Muhammad Ansari, Ilm-ud-Din Ansari, writer Jami Chandio, Arbab Ehsan, members of the legal community, and political and social figures were present during the announcement of the verdict.After the decision, Ilm-ud-Din Ansari and others stated that they had received justice from the court and expressed satisfaction over the ruling.It may be recalled that the burnt body of famous poet Dr Akash Ansari, a resident of Qasimabad, Hyderabad, was found at his home. Initially, his son Latif claimed that the incident occurred due to a fire at the house. However, during the investigation and trial, the crime was proven, leading to today’s verdict.
