Sindhis and Baloch have always been brothers. Our relationship is built on shared history, culture, and mutual respect. We celebrate each other’s traditions and stand together in difficult times. Unfortunately, a few people try to create misunderstandings between our communities, but we will never allow them to succeed.Baloch leader Rauf Khan Sasoli recently highlighted this deep-rooted unity. He recalled that when Sindhi people faced challenges in Karachi, Baloch communities stood firmly by their side. In particular, the Baloch residents of Lyari and Malir supported Sindhi nationalism not only through words but through real action on the ground.According to Sasoli, Baloch people who speak Balochi in Lyari and those living in Malir participated in what he described as a practical struggle, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Sindhi community during tense and critical moments. He also clarified that betrayal has no place in Baloch traditions. Narratives suggesting otherwise, he said, are baseless and do not reflect the true values of Baloch society. Sasoli emphasized that he personally witnessed those difficult times, strengthening the authenticity of his account.Recalling an important moment, he shared that on the direction of Nawab Akbar Bugti, he led a major protest rally in Karachi. The rally began at 3 PM and continued until 11 PM, starting from Karachi Press Club, where participants continuously raised slogans for the protection and rights of Sindh.

Jam Saqi remains one of the most influential progressive political figures in the history of Sindh. Known for his unwavering commitment to democracy, workers’ rights, and social justice, Jam Saqi’s life was a powerful example of ideological strength and resistance against authoritarian rule.Born on 31 October 1944 in Village Sangi, Jam Saqi grew up witnessing social inequalities that deeply influenced his political beliefs. As he matured, he became actively involved in progressive politics and later emerged as a prominent leader associated with the Communist Party of Pakistan.During periods of military dictatorship in Pakistan, Jam Saqi faced severe repression because of his political views. He spent many years behind prison bars, enduring long periods of imprisonment. In fact, nearly half of his life was spent in jail due to his struggle for democratic rights and social justice. However, imprisonment never broke his spirit. Jam Saqi refused to allow handcuffs to become chains for his ideology. Instead, he transformed prison into a place of learning and reflection. The prison bars that were meant to silence him became a classroom where ideas of equality, resistance, and political awareness continued to grow. For Jam Saqi, imprisonment was not a symbol of defeat. It became a powerful symbol of resistance against oppression. His courage inspired many activists, students, and workers who believed in building a society based on justice and equality. The 8th death anniversary of Jam Saqi is being remembered this March. He passed away on 5 March 2018 in Karachi and was laid to rest near his hometown in Larkana. His life and struggle for democracy, workers’ rights, and social justice continue to inspire generations across Sindh and Pakistan.
