Hyderabad, Sindh: In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s public education sector, Government Girls Lower Secondary School, Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain, Hyderabad, has been named among the Top 10 finalists for the prestigious World’s Best School Prizes 2026.

The awards, organized by the global education platform T4 Education, recognize schools that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and a positive impact on their communities. This marks the first time a public school from Sindh has earned a place on the global shortlist, making it a historic milestone for the province.

Selected from thousands of entries submitted by schools worldwide, the Hyderabad-based institution is also one of only two schools from Pakistan to reach the final shortlist for the 2026 awards.

At Khyber Primary School, poor and needy students were gifted new shoes by Principal Professor Barkatullah Bhutto. This initiative was aimed at helping students attend school comfortably and improving their learning experience. Principal Barkat u llah Bhutto said that helping underprivileged students with shoes, uniforms, books, and notebooks brings peace to the heart. On this occasion, Headmaster Ismail Khyber, teacher Abdul Nabi Shah, teacher Irshad Lakho, Hafiz Imdad Memon, and other staff members also participated in distributing shoes.
