Hyderabad, May 2 A severe heatwave continues to grip several parts of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Jacobabad, with temperatures soaring above 44°C in some regions. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert, warning citizens to avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours.
Hospitals in Hyderabad and surrounding areas have reported an increase in cases of heatstroke, dehydration, and fatigue, especially among children and elderly citizens. The Health Department has directed medical staff to remain on high alert, particularly in rural health units and basic health centers.
Authorities have advised the public to:
- Stay hydrated by drinking clean water frequently
- Avoid outdoor activities between 11 am to 4 pm
- Wear light-colored, loose clothing
- Use wet cloths or take frequent showers to stay cool
