On the call of the Sindh Tolerance Committee, a march titled “Save Indus River and Tolerance in Sindh” is scheduled for November 23 in Hyderabad. As part of its awareness campaign, political and human rights activists, writers, women leaders, journalists, and intellectuals gathered yesterday at Al-Manzar on the banks of the Indus River. They paid floral tributes to the river before proceeding as a caravan to Bhit Shah, where they visited the shrines of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and Shaikh Ayaz.
During the tribute to the Indus River, slogans such as “No to all canals, no to all dams,” “The fight is for the river, the fight is for water,” “Latif’s land desires peace,” and “The land of peace calls for harmony” were raised.
